From our founder

Bareeq began with a simple belief: every person deserves the opportunity to learn, grow, and build a future with dignity.

Since 2015, we have worked to create spaces where children and young people can discover their talents, where women can build livelihoods, and where communities can find opportunity and hope.

Today, seeing Bareeq grow in Syria is deeply meaningful to me. Every child who learns, every young person who gains a skill, and every woman who builds her own path reminds us why we started.

Bareeq is more than a foundation. It is a community built on hope, dignity, and the belief that investing in people can change a country’s future.

We work to expand access to education, practical training and psychosocial support, helping children, young people and women build their skills, confidence and opportunities.

Our History

Bareeq began as an idea in 2012. Its history includes official registration in Jordan in 2015, and the later founding of two independent nonprofit organizations: Bareeq Development Inc. in the United States (2020) and Bareeq Foundation in Syria (2025). Our story is shaped by the experiences of the people we have supported.
